Umatilla, the Gateway to the Ocala National Forest, is located

In March 2010, every household will receive a census questionnaire in the mail. It is important every Umatilla resident is counted during the 2010 U.S. Census.
Your response matters!
Census data helps inform decision makers how our community is changing.
Bring federal dollars to our community!
The population counted during the census affects funding for our community. Approximately $400 billion in federal funds are distributed to communities each year based on the census.
The census is short, simple and CONFIDENTIAL!
The 2010 Census questionnaire has only 10 questions and is one of the shortest in history. Your response is strictly confidential — by law, the Census Bureau cannot share questionnaire responses with anyone, including other federal agencies and law enforcement entities.
Umatilla was founded in 1856 by Nathan J. Trowell. The
name was taken from an Oregon town of the same name, and Indian
name meaning “laughing waters”. The area
was incorporated on November 8, 1904.
